As you will have noticed from a couple packing lists I have made, Dr. Bronners is on all of them.

For example, the BELIZE packing list and the Peru SALKANTAY TREK packing list. And to name a few other places I haven’t written a packing list for yet… PORTUGAL, SPAIN, MOROCCO and general back packing trips.

Anyways, as you can see, me and Dr. Bronner’s go everywhere together.

Why? Might you ask? Because it’s good for everything. And they strive to use organic and fair trade ingredients. Which is something that I am into.

Dr. Bronners and I first met at REI. I went to REI to get a few last minute things for my trip to PERU. The sales attendant and she introduced me to him.

I bought a travel sized bottle of the peppermint castille soap for my trip and went on my way. I used it for washing my hair, body, face, teeth, dishes, clothes… and since then, I have been using a variety of smells such as lavender, almond, rose, and citrus for mopping my floor, washing my dog, and everything else I could possible fathom. Don’t use all of these for your teeth. They don’t all taste great.

Since then, I have discovered so many other magical Dr. Bronners products.

The only slight downside to washing your hair with Dr. Bronner’s castille soap is that it can leave your hair feeling a bit like hay. Which is fine because leave-in conditioner exists. Which is extra convenient because Dr. Bronner’s makes fantastic leave-in conditioner.

I use the Lavender scent HAIR CREME that is fair trade ingredients, Organic, and has never been tested on animals. It leaves my hair feeling naturally beautiful and scented. Emphasis on naturally…

I recently started brushing my teeth with their Anise toothpaste.

Originally, I was brushing my teeth exclusively with Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint castille soap. Until I discovered they had actual toothpaste.

Something you need to know is that regular toothpaste hurts my gums. DR. BRONNER’S TOOTHPASTE, does not. Probably because it is fair trade and doesn’t have crazy unknown chemicals in it that have no place in my mouth.

It also leaves my mouth tasting better than any other tooth paste ever has before.

Next things next, their Hand & Body Lotion…

This is a simply refreshing lotion. I use the Patchouli Lime Hand & Body Lotion after every shower. This scent leaves my skin feeling more refreshed than any lotion I have in my lotion arsenal.

All of the lotion scents are fair trade and organic materials. Believe you me, in the dry Montana weather, I need lotions of maximum moisturizing capability.

And finally last but not least, Sugar Soaps!

I have been most recently acquainted with the ORGANIC SUGAR SOAPS.

It is basically a fancier version of the Castille Soap because you can use it as a regular hand soap off to the side of the sink, or in the shower to wash your face, hair, and body. And again, they’re organic, fair trade and wonderful smelling.

In fact, I just washed my hands with it, and the smell has beautifully lingered for at least 10 minutes. Who doesn’t love a beautifully lingering smell!

As you can see, most of the products are fair trade, organic materials, AND the bottles are made of recycled products too!
